We've noted before that Gray Morrow (along with Steranko and Wallace Wood) worked on the syndicated sixties TV cartoon series, ROCKET ROBIN HOOD. Here, courtesy once again of Ronn S., is a cel clearly by Gray from that series and showing just how much the character seems based on the look of actor Dick Gautier, himself Robin Hood a decade later on the series WHEN THINGS WERE ROTTEN.
Such a nice cel setup.....I was in the bidding for that one.
ReplyDeleteThere aren't too many pieces around from that show. I know Ronn S has some storyboards, as well as John Kricfalusi, and myself.
It is hard to say if any of my stuff is Gray's. I have a bunch of layouts, including the title sequence layout that was used in each episode.
I do have some designs by Bakshi and Steranko boards.
